Gentle creature
Full of love Can I hug you? Soft hair against my face Friend to the human race Forever forgiving We run through The long grass Of the apple orchard Together Your ears fly beside you Like wings of happiness Softly drifting up and down They’d love to lift you Far up Into the sky Too bad about gravity Your tongue lollops From the side of your mouth Just because it can You don’t care What the world thinks of you But you care about me We drop down Into the tall grass The smell of fallen apples Stomped into the earth Beneath our backs You lick my face Snuggle up close to my heart Your panting Like a tiny motor engine For my self confidence We lie amongst the grass Sun streaming onto our faces Looking up at the sky My dog and I
